North Haven Animal Hospital located in New Haven County, CT, has earned a stellar reputation for providing state-of-the-art veterinary care through an experienced and compassionate staff. Founded by Dr. James T. Wells and Dr. Lewis Jolly after they graduated from Purdue University’s veterinary school in1979.

North Haven Animal Hospital is a full-service facility dedicated to wellness, medical, and care. Here we combine the latest technological advancements with high-quality, personalized care. We prioritize ensuring that pet owners are fully informed and involved in their pet’s healthcare decisions, fostering a supportive environment where pets receive the best possible treatment. Our goal is to offer the best of both modern veterinary medicine and old-fashioned, personalized compassionate service, ensuring that each pet is treated like family!

Our hours of operation are:

  • Mon – Fri: 8:00 AM – 5:45 PM
  • Saturday: 8:30 AM – 11:45 AM
  • Closed on Sunday

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

We’re looking for:

  • A minimum of 1-year veterinary experience as a Veterinary Assistant- required
  • Saturdays until 12pm- required
  • Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
  • Must be able to properly restrain pets.
  • Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
  • Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Pay Range: $19-$22/hr
