350 Mass is hiring 1 paid intern for the Spring 2025 semester to support 350 Mass, a statewide, grassroots, climate justice organization. This internship positions is in partnership with the Mass Clean Energy Center’s Clean Energy Internship Program.
In order to be eligible for either internship, you must:
- Currently attend a college/university in Massachusetts and have already completed at least one semester
- OR Have been a college student in the last year and can provide current proof of current residency in Massachusetts.
- Undergraduates must have completed 24 credits to qualify. Please take note if you are a first-year student.
Internship Information:
Compensation: $16/hour
Hours: Part time, flexible (20 hours a week)
Start: Flexible, after January 1, 2025
End: Flexible, up until May 16, 2025
Location: Hybrid; Internship includes virtual work as well as in-person work at our office: 15 Properzi Way, Somerville, MA, outside of Union Square.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supporting the organizing work of local chapters (called nodes) throughout MA
- Creating resources and materials for our membership network
- Contributing content to various social media platforms and helping send out the organization’s weekly newsletter
- Providing administrative and organizing support
Qualifications:
- Strong writing and communications skills
- Demonstrated interest in environmental justice, climate justice, racial justice, and/or other social justice issues
- Experience with social media and digital outreach (especially Twitter and Instagram)
- Experience and/or interest in community organizing
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Fluency with Zoom, Slack, Google Apps and associated applications
Anticipated Internship Outcomes:
- Gain hands-on experience working with a statewide grassroots movement in a crucial political climate
- Expand understanding of leadership development, community organizing, the climate movement, and political processes
Other details:
- Position start date will be determined in collaboration with the selected interns.
- This position reports to the 350 Mass Director of Organizing and is supported in specific projects by all members of the team.
