About the Internship Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual with a strong background in cybersecurity to join our remote team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on real-world projects in a dynamic and collaborative virtual environment. The person will be responsible for assisting in the review, architecture, design, development, and maintenance of cybersecurity systems, including Public Key Infrastructures (PKI) and Certification Authorities (CA).
This is an intern position for current students. It is available part-time during the school year and full-time over the summer.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, specification, implementation, operation, and maintenance of security solutions.
- Review applications and systems from compliance with industry standards, including PCI DSS, WebTrust, ISO 27001, and others.
- Collaborate with remote team members to develop innovative solutions and ensure the delivery of high-quality projects.
- Thoroughly document solutions to industry best practices and applicable standards.
- Assist in the troubleshooting, debugging, and resolution of technical issues related to the solution.
- Participate in regular virtual meetings to report progress, discuss challenges, and propose solutions.
- Continuously learn and stay current with the latest security technologies and trends.
Qualifications:
The list below describes our ideal candidate. We realize we are looking for a unicorn with some of the previous experience requests. So, if you don’t have those specific experiences, but you are strong in other areas, apply anyway. If we like what we see, then you might get experience in these areas.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of information security concepts relating to public key infrastructures, including encryption, digital certificates, multi-factor authentication,
- Familiarity with applicable standards governing certification authorities, including WebTrust, NIST CSF, and PCI
- Familiarity with command-line provisioning and administration of Linux systems, particularly Red Hat and Ubuntu.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a remote, team-oriented environment.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.
- Must have a suitable workspace, computer, and a reliable Internet connection.
