We are seeking highly motivated and talented individuals with a strong background in web development to join our remote team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on real-world projects in a dynamic and collaborative virtual environment. The person will be responsible for assisting in designing, developing, and maintaining web-based applications using PHP, Bootstrap, and MySQL.
This is an intern position for current students. It is available for 20 hours max during the school year and 40 hours max during the summer.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of web applications using PHP, Bootstrap, and MySQL in a remote work setting.
- Collaborate with remote team members to develop innovative solutions and ensure the delivery of high-quality projects.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that adheres to industry best practices and coding standards.
- Assist in the troubleshooting, debugging, and resolution of technical issues related to the applications.
- Participate in regular virtual meetings to report progress, discuss challenges, and propose solutions.
- Continuously learn and stay current with the latest web development technologies and trends.
Qualifications:
The list below describes our ideal candidate. We realize we are looking for a unicorn with some of the previous experience requests. So, if you don’t have experience in all areas listed, but feel you could do most of them with some training, apply anyway. If you are really serious about this position, you should include the word unicorn somewhere in your cover letter.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of web development technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, PHP, MySQL, Bootstrap, React, JavaScript, and responsive design.
- Experience writing publicly accessible SaaS web applications.
- Ability to write websites for both desktop and mobile browsers.
- Skills in effective UI/UX design and coding.
- Experience with data modeling.
- Familiarity with and a capacity for using AI tools to assist in the coding process.
- Experience working in a team using Agile development practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Willingness to take the lead of a project and help other team members as needed.
- Ability to work both independently and in a remote, team-oriented environment.
- Not afraid to ask questions and admit when your knowledge or experience is lacking.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship and have a reliable Internet connection.
- Must have a suitable workspace, computer, and a reliable Internet connection.
