OVERVIEW
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Athletic Marketing Department is pleased to invite students from the Honors College at UNLV to apply for an undergraduate field internship for the 2025-2026 academic school year. This opportunity offers students the opportunity to work behind the scenes of all 16 intercollegiate sports their university has to offer. The Athletic marketing department is comprised of students from UNLV and Southern Nevada community colleges, with students ranging from first-year to graduates. Our department focuses on marketing our brand to Las Vegas and all of Southern Nevada as we work closely with coaching staff from various sports and sister departments to provide the best in-game entertainment possible.
INTERNSHIP ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
For this credit-bearing internship, our preference is to enroll undergraduate students in HON 395 for 3 credits (150 hours for the semester). This translates into the students being with us roughly 10 to 12 hours each week. With the sheer amount of live events and on-campus marketing we do on a weekly basis, the weekly hourly goal is easily attainable. The primary focus of our internship is to provide sports marketing and game presentation experience in a variety of avenues. The main goal of our marketing department is to promote UNLV athletics to faculty, students, alumni, and all Rebel fans in the surrounding community. By doing this, we aim to foster and mold the next generation of collegiate and professional sports marketers by:
- Creating outstanding fan experiences
- Implementing cutting-edge marketing strategies
- Education on game script creation
- Leadership opportunities
- Working on semester-long group initiatives
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION
Preference will be given to students with a passion and strong desire to work in the sports industry. We are searching for students with a strong work ethic, excellent time management skills, and strong communication skills who have professional goals that match what the internship offers. Interns must be current Honors College students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
