Academic Effectiveness Surveys & Data Team Position Description and Application
OVERVIEW
We are hiring a number of positions for Summer and Fall 2026. These positions will help oversee general operations of the Surveys & Data Team within the Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, among other professional development efforts, and will be supervised by Surveys & Data Team leadership. The positions vary in scope and include the following:
Graduate Assistant (Fall 2026)
- Current or recently admitted graduate student

Federal Work Study (Fall 2026)
- Enrolled UNLV undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need determined by FAFSA.

Internships (Summer and Fall 2026)
- Enrolled at UNLV as an upper-division student (60+ credit hours) seeking to fulfill an internship requirement as part of their coursework.
- Candidates should meet with their college/major advisor to determine which courses are designated for internships and what the hourly semester commitment is–typically 120 total hours.
- May be eligible for the Neon Pacific Initiative program/funding
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the development of survey infrastructure
- Manage a variety of datasets
- Monitor survey resources
- Provide input and manage the Surveys & Data Team social media platforms
- Liaise with individuals and units across campus to address survey needs
- Support a team of part-time undergraduate student assistants and/or interns
- Attend scheduled and ad-hoc meetings
- Additional duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Flexibility in your schedule that allows availability to work 20 hours per week between 9AM and 5 PM at the on-campus office (in person)
- A self-starter with teamwork and leadership skills
- Adaptable to changes in programming, calendars, and daily tasks
- Comfortable with inputting, collecting, and managing data sets
- Organized and have great time management skills
- Able to work independently with little supervision at times
- Adept at maintaining professional demeanor and relationships
- Capable of working in a dynamic academic setting
DESIRABLE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Experience in, or eager to learn, spreadsheets, word processing documents/PDFs, data visualization, and surveys
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects/tasks
- Ability to work effectively in an academic, research-oriented environment
- Ability to work as an influential member of a dynamic team
- Ability to coach and mentor undergraduate students
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Prior experience in an internship type and/or part-time employment professional setting

HONORS COLLEGE INTERNSHIPS PROGRAM POLICIES
- For both paid and unpaid HON 395 internships, students apply for the position directly through the organization that is hosting the internship. If students secure a paid internship but also need to take a corresponding internship course that is for-credit, please contact the Program Coordinator to discuss viable options. No international internships.
- To be eligible for HON 395, active UNLV Honors College students must be at least 18 years old, at sophomore standing or higher (at least 30 credits earned), and hold a GPA of 3.3 or higher. To enroll, students must gain consent of the HC Internship Program Coordinator by following the 5-step application process outlined at: unlv.edu/honors/internships
