Nevada’s Water Environment Association (NWEA) is an educational non-profit member organization of the Water Environment Federation (WEF) designed to provide water quality professionals around the State with the latest in water quality education, training, and business opportunities. NWEA’s diverse membership includes scientists, engineers, regulators, academics, utility managers, plant operators, and other professionals involved with municipal and industrial water treatment.
The UNLV Student Chapter of NWEA aims to give students and young professionals programs, resources, and networking opportunities to launch a successful career in the water and wastewater field. We accomplish this by providing professional development and leadership opportunities through involvement in: (1) engineering design competition that addresses solutions to local water issues within WEF and NWEA, (2) having guest speakers, (3) sharing resources and (4) networking within the student chapter and with local professionals.
