Nevada Forward (NV|Forward) Apprenticeship Program
Nevada Forward (NV|Forward) offers an apprenticeship program that helps students gain employment as a paraprofessional, school support professional, or long-term sub in a Nevada public or charter school while still in school. The program also gives community members who are working as a paraprofessional, school support professional, or long-term sub in a Nevada public or charter school pathways and funding to complete their degree and obtain teaching licensure while working full-time. NV|Forward also has a library of professional development resources including videos, microcredentials, curriculum aides and more to help working teachers succeed in the classroom.
Alternative Route to Licensure
UNLV’s Alternative Route to Licensure (ARL) programs provide a fast track into teaching for individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree outside of education. These comprehensive programs offer the ability to receive a conditional teaching license in Nevada after one semester (based on successful completion of licensing requirements) and continue through the Nevada standard licensing requirements and Master of Education (M.Ed.) or Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) requirements for early childhood education, special education, and curriculum & instruction.
