Student Identities/Affinities

Why is identity important to your career development?

Because you should be able to be your authentic self in any role, career path, and workplace. Our identities define who we are – whether we are a first-generation student, an international student, or a student a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. These identities, especially when they intersect, cause all of us to have unique experiences, strengths, and challenges, so the better you can understand your strengths as well as ways to tackle the unique challenges, the better prepared you will be for your career. Plus, embracing your identity within your career can help you connect with similar and like-minded individuals, creating community and relationships within your career.

UNLV Career Launch has built unique identity and affinity community pages for UNLV students to explore, learn, and connect with resources, people and opportunities related to that identity or affinity.
