Future Latinos in Medicine is a pre-health organization committed to providing community outreach to serve the Latinx community of Las Vegas. We provide support for the underrepresented Latinx undergraduates who are interested in pursuing careers in the medical field.
We have spoken to 300+ middle/high school students about the importance of higher education, science-related careers, and shared our experiences as first-generation college students.
At the core of our mission is the importance of compassion, teamwork, responsibility, and sense of community. Our objectives are the following:
- To raise awareness amongst first-generation students about various careers in medicine.
- To serve our underrepresented community in the medical field through direct involvement and outreach services.
- To increase the amount of underrepresented health-care professionals in the Southern Nevada.
