Sable Systems is dedicated to helping scientists push the boundaries of animal and human metabolism research. We design and manufacture leading-edge systems for metabolic and behavioral phenotyping, calorimetry, respirometry and gas analysis. As an intern with Sable Systems your Learning Objectives will be:
Including, but not limited to:
- Develop engineering part and assembly drawings.
- Review engineering part and assembly drawings for errors and omissions.
- Alternate mechanical component identification and qualification.
- Failure root cause analysis of product returns and design defects.
- Identify and implement corrective actions.
- Write and/or review design and manufacturing documentation for technical content and accuracy.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in 3D CAD and creating engineering part and assembly drawings.
- Proficient technical writing and documentation skills.
- Capable of effective time management and prioritization and making progress on multiple concurrent tasks.
- Proficient in use of SolidWorks CAD software.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook software.
- Effective communicator, both orally and in writing.
We are seeking candidates that are:
Open to: Undergraduate Junior and Seniors
Majors/fields: Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
When: 12-week program from late May or June
During the Spring and Fall can work a max of 20 hrs per week. During the summer can work a max of 40 hrs per week.
This is a paid internship, but does not provide housing, relocation or transportation assistance.
